Run Your Excel Spreadsheets Live On the Web with SpreadsheetConverter Version 5

February 25, 2010 -- SpreadsheetConverter is an add-on to Microsoft Excel that lets you convert spreadsheets to live web pages. The new version 5 recently became available.
"Everybody wants a copy of your best Excel spreadsheets. After a while, they'll be using old versions with old prices. SpreadsheetConverter converts your spreadsheet to a web page calculator that people can use directly on the internal web", says sales manager Anna Winter.
In version 5 of SpreadsheetConverter, you can create an even better user experience, e.g. by using radio buttons, list boxes, calendars, star ratings and sliders.
If your Excel spreadsheet contains charts, SpreadsheetConverter converts them into web-ready Flash animations that automatically update as you modify the underlying data in the spreadsheet. In version 5 you get new chart types like stacked bar and line charts, and many more formatting options.
If you create a booking or order form with Excel, SpreadsheetConverter can publish it on the web and send submitted forms directly to your e-mail inbox.
"With paper forms you're always chasing people for additional information like cost center numbers. With SpreadsheetConverter you just make certain fields in the form mandatory, so no-one can send you an order without specifying their cost center. You bet it saves a lot of time", states Winter.
The basic form-to-inbox service is free. The fee-based Advanced Submit Service allows you to store submitted forms in a database until you download them all at once in the file format of your choice. With the Advanced Submit Service, you get the whole form exactly as it looked on the server when the visitor entered data into it.
If your workbook has more than one sheet, SpreadsheetConverter can create a tab for each sheet, or you can use a panel or accordion-style layout to hide all worksheets except the ones you're currently working with. The new data entry wizard allows the visitor to advance step-by-step through a form, with each worksheet as a separate step in the wizard.
The Professional Edition allows you to redistribute your webpage outside your own organization. It supports conversion of additional Excel functions, extra chart types and bigger workbooks, and remembers the unique conversion options for each sheet.
